تحظى العمامة باهتمام بالغ وحضور كثيف في التراث العربي حتى يومنا هذا، فهي أحد رموز هوية العرب وأصالة عرقهم. وقد أشارت المصادر التراثية إلى ظهور أسماء تميز العمائم عن بعضها وفقًا للإقليم الجغرافي أو الحكم السياسي أو البعد الديني أو بسبب العرق. وبذلك تكون العمامة قد تجاوزت وظائفها الأولية من حماية الرأس إلى الرمزية الثقافية التي كانت تغذيها الصراعات السياسية والعرقية .
ولذا فقد آثرت أن تكون دراستي حول الرمزية الثقافية للعمامة السوداء من دلالة الثأر إلى رمزية الثورة، وعنونتها بـ " العمامة السوداء في مصادر التراث العربي من دلالة الثأر إلى رمزية الثورة دراسة سيمائية ثقافية "، متبعًا في ذلك المنهج السيميائي الثقافي؛ لأنه يقع بين اللغة والثقافة، فيجمع بين كفاية معالجة النصوص الأدبية والأخبار بوصفها لغة .
 هذا وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى العديد من النتائج، جاء من أهمها :
امتلاك العمامة السوداء رمزية سيميائية وثقافية تطورت دلالاتها عبر التاريخ العربي، وقد بدأت رمزيتها بدلالتها البسيطة على الثأر في الجاهلية ثم أخذت في التعقيد الدلالي تبعًا لتطورات الثقافة العربية لاسيما بعد دخول الإسلام.

Therefore, it has chose to be my studies on the cultural symbolism of the black turban from the significance of revenge to the symbolism of the revolution, and its titles with 'black turban in the sources of Arab heritage from the significance of revenge to the symbolism of the revolution, a cultural cultural study', following in that cultural semiotic approach; Because it falls between language and culture, it combines the adequacy of literary texts and news as a language.
 The study reached many results, the most important of which came: The possession of the black turban is a semiotic and cultural symbolic symbolic and its implications have evolved throughout Arab history, and its symbolism began with its simple indication of revenge in the pre -Islamic era and then it took the semantic complexity according to the developments of Arab culture, especially after the entry of Islam.
