يتناول هذا البحث موقف ابن تيمية من الأشاعرة في تفسير أفعال الله وصفاته، حيث يتصدى لعدة مفاهيم فلسفية وتأويلات عقلية أدخلها الأشاعرة في فهم صفات الله. فقد اعتمدوا على التفويض والتأويل في بعض الأحيان، واختلفوا مع السلف في تفسير صفات الله مثل العلو، والاستواء، والكلام، واعتقدوا أن هذه الصفات هي معانٍ نفسية غير مرتبطة بألفاظ أو حروف مادية، ورغم محاولاتهم لتأصيل هذه الصفات من خلال التأويل الفلسفي، فإن ابن تيمية يرى أن مواقف الأشاعرة تأثرت بالمفاهيم الفلسفية والمعتزلية التي تعارض الكتاب والسنة في كثير من الأحيانـ، ويرى أيضًا أن فهم السلف لهذه الصفات كان أصدق، إذ أن الله يتكلم بحروف وأصوات، وأفعاله متعلقة بمشيئته الكاملة. كما يتطرق البحث إلى موقف الأشاعرة من الإرادة والكلام ويفصل بين الآراء المختلفة في ما يتعلق بصفات الله المتجددة والقديمة. يُختتم البحث بالإشارة إلى أن ابن تيمية أكد ضرورة العودة إلى التفسير الحرفي للنصوص دون غلو في التأويل العقلي.
This research addresses Ibn Taymiyyah's stance on the Ash'ari interpretation of God's actions and attributes, where he confronts several philosophical concepts and mental interpretations introduced by the Ash'aris in their understanding of God's attributes. They often relied on tafwid (delegation) and ta'wil (interpretation) at times, differing with the Salaf in interpreting attributes such as transcendence, establishment, and speech. The Ash'aris believed that these attributes were psychological meanings not linked to material words or letters. Despite their attempts to ground these attributes through philosophical interpretation, Ibn Taymiyyah argues that the Ash'ari stance was influenced by philosophical and Mu'tazili concepts that often oppose the Qur'an and Sunnah. He also believes that the Salafi understanding of these attributes was more authentic, as God speaks with letters and sounds, and His actions are connected to His complete will. The research also delves into the Ash'ari views on will and speech, distinguishing between the various opinions concerning the new and eternal attributes of God.
